The Golden Fleece Hotel, Eatery and Coffee House on Thirsk’s cobbled market place is situated between the North Yorkshire Moors and The Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The hotel was once a famous coaching inn and is steeped in history, its Georgian “coaching clock” still hangs in the entrance hall. Our 26 en-suite rooms are individually designed to make guests feel completely at home, service is relaxed and friendly. We have our own private car park and Wifi access is free of charge. Whether you are looking for something to eat in our restaurant, attending a conference or social event, or simply getting away from it all, we offer all our guests a warm Yorkshire welcome.

A Fascinating History

Located in the centre of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, the main part of
The Golden Fleece Hotel retains structures dating from the 1500s,
including a large, oak-beamed, inglenook fireplace. It is thought to
have originated as a private house. It came to prominence as an inn
in 1810 when new owners George and Mary Blythe established
it as one of the north’s most important coaching inns.
